A reference to the systems behind Valoria — skills, combat, gear, factions, and the economy. New here? Start with the How to Play guide first.
Overview
Valoria is a browser 3D MMORPG set across a chain of floating sky-isles. Everyone shares one living world. You grow your character by gathering resources, fighting monsters, crafting gear, and completing quests.
The early isles are safe ground for learning and leveling. Once you reach combat level 10 you can Ascend — pledge to a faction, gain wings, and step into the endgame: open-world PvP, contested territory, and a world boss on the frontier.
Skills & XP
Skills level up as you use them. Combat skills — Attack, Strength, Defence, and Hitpoints — grow as you fight and cap at level 30. Your overall combat level is capped at 30 too.
The three gathering skills — Woodcutting, Mining, and Fishing — climb all the way to level 99, unlocking faster, more reliable harvests and access to richer resources. You start with every skill at 1, except Hitpoints, which begins at 10.
Combat & weapons
Combat is real-time. Click an enemy or press Tab to target, and your weapon auto-attacks every 1.2 seconds while in range. Layer abilities on top with Q, W, and R. Mend (E) restores 35% of your max HP on a 15s cooldown, and every landed hit has a 10% chance to crit for double damage.
Your three abilities come from your weapon class. The mobility move (R) unlocks at combat level 10.
| Class | Primary (Q) | Area (W) | Mobility (R) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sword | Heavy Strike ×2 | Splash (2.6 radius) | Dash, 18 spd |
| Mace | Smite ×2.5 | Quake (3.2 radius) | Blink, 6 tiles |
| Axe | Cleave ×2.2 | Whirlwind (2.9 radius) | Lunge, 7 tiles |
Food also heals out of combat — cook raw fish and meat at a campfire first.
Gear & crafting
Gear climbs five tiers across four slots — weapon, helm, chest, and boots. Each craft consumes the previous tier's piece plus materials, so gearing up is a ladder. Learn gear recipes from an Armorer before you can craft them.
| Tier | Set | How you get it |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Traveler | Starter gear, worn from your first login |
| 2 | Drakebone | Farmable in the starting zones |
| 3 | Skystone | Adds ember crystal from Bloodmoor |
| 4 | Gleamsteel | Adds stormsilver ore from Bloodmoor |
| 5 | Voidforged | Adds rare void essence; recipes cost gold |
The exotic materials for tiers 3–5 come only from Bloodmoor, so the top of the ladder is gated behind the dangerous frontier. Bags expand your inventory from 15 toward 28 slots.
Factions & Ascension
At combat level 10 you Ascend and pledge to one of two factions — a permanent choice that grants your wings and opens the open-world endgame.
The Aurelians are children of the dawn, who believe the shattered isles can be rejoined under one light. The Nyxborn are heirs of the dusk, who hold that only those tempered in the void deserve the sky. Your faction decides who you fight in the open world and which side you stand with on the frontier.
PvP & honor
Most of the world is safe. Player-vs-player combat only happens in two places: the arena in the capital, a free-for-all duelling pit where anyone can fight anyone; and Bloodmoor, the open-PvP frontier, where only the opposing faction can attack you.
Kills earn honor — 100 for a fresh kill, less for repeats — which climbs 14 ranks from Soldier to Officer, then into faction-wide competitive standings: General, Grand General, and a single Governor per faction.
The frontier
Bloodmoor is the contested heart of the endgame. It holds two capturable artifacts: clear their guards, then hold the ground uncontested with enough of your faction present to channel the capture. Owning one buffs your faction nearby.
Hold both artifacts and a rift tears open to the Warlord's Sanctum. Only your faction can cross it to fight the Crimson Warlord — a raid boss that mints a shared gold pool split among everyone who helped fell it. The Warlord rises once per day, at the 06:00 reset.
Economy & trade
Gold is the realm's single currency, and it is deliberately scarce. Monsters drop no gold — they drop materials you sell to vendors, but each vendor only pays out of a limited daily gold pool, so grinding can't flood the economy. Gold also comes from quests, daily bounties, the world boss, and the Fountain of Fortune, and it pays for everything: crafting, gear recipes, soul-binds, and founding a guild.
Bank items at the Vault, sell your goods for gold at the Provisioner (sell-only — it buys but never sells), learn recipes from the Armorer, and trade with other players at the Auction House, where every sale burns a 5% gold tax. A free daily spin at the Fountain of Fortune can win materials, gold, gear, or a rare cosmetic aura.
Guilds & social
Once you Ascend at combat level 10 you can found or join a guild for up to 30 members, with officer ranks and a private guild chat. A guild holds a single faction — only fellow Aurelians (or fellow Nyxborn) can enlist. Team up to take the frontier and climb the guild leaderboard.
Chat comes in three channels — global, guild, and faction — and speech bubbles appear over nearby players. Three leaderboards track the realm's best: top PvP honor, most gold, and strongest guilds.
